Here you will find links to class notes and other resources like the weekly meditation practices that may be helpful for either review or to get started with a solo practice. Some are more or less “fixed” sets that have been around for a long time. Others, such as 5 elements practices can have nearly endless variations. For those visiting the site who are not currently class participants at the Y, some of these may look a little odd. I lead a movement class that draws from many Eastern breath focused movement traditions. Some look a bit like martial arts but without the kicking and punching – the “internal” martial arts. Many classes resemble tai chi but instead of precise choreography, our focus is on harmonizing movement and breath to keep our life energy – the “Qi” – balanced and flowing freely.
