Here you will find links to class plans for the week ahead and other resources that may be helpful for either review or to get started with a solo practice. I rarely use them while teaching anymore and there tends to be a few tweaks during the week, but for those who want to augment live sessions with personal practice, these can help you remember the movements we do. Some are more or less “fixed” sets that have been around for a long time. Others, such as 5 elements practices can have nearly endless variations. For the curious, there is a excellent piece on the 5 Elements from Spring Forest Qigong –> click HERE for that (will take you to their site). For those visiting the site who are not currently class participants at the Y, some of these may look a little odd. I lead a class that draws from many Eastern breath focused movement traditions. Some look a bit like martial arts but without the kicking and punching – the “internal” martial arts. The focus is on harmonizing movement and breath to keep our life energy – the “Qi” – balanced and flowing freely. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.
